CSN Cancels “Breakfast On Broad”

Breakfast On Broad

Comcast Corporation launched the morning show, “Breakfast on Broad” approximately two years ago. The telecom giant launched this show by hoping that they will be able to duplicate the show across a number of Comcast SportsNet networks throughout the country. However, a recent statement by Comcast officials confirmed that they are cancelling the show.

The officials from Comcast also thanked the crew and viewers in their statement. “A special thank you to the entire crew from Breakfast on Broad for their dedication to trying new things, and providing viewers with entertaining and compelling content,” officials said.

The last episode of this show was aired on last Friday. Reports indicate that the morning show was pulled off from both Comcast Network and the CSN and it was replaced by the highlights of professional and college games. It is believed that the four hosts of the show, Barrett Brooks, Rob Ellis, Sarah Baicker, and Jillian Mele will remain with the CSN. Viewers will be able to catch these hosts on various other shows in the network, although the channel executives have not yet reveal their exact roles.

In a statement, CSN noted, “As the first local sports news program of its kind, Breakfast on Broad intended to better serve our viewers with more targeted sports programming across our platforms. After February 3rd, Breakfast on Broad will no longer be presented as a morning show. The hosts will remain with CSN Philadelphia, and our award-winning content will continue to engage Philly sports fans across multiple platforms.”

CSN Network

The telecom company had hired a 15 full-time employee crew team to staff the morning show, “Breakfast on Broad” during its launch. A major portion of these crewmembers will be assigned to new roles at both the networks. However, it is reported that a few of them will be relieved from their duties.

CSN Network had also recently cut their signature news program, which is titled as SportsNet Central, from 30 minutes to 15 minutes. CSN has also tried to make a few format changes in the last few months in order to attract more millennial viewers to their offerings. The network is also trying to put more emphasis on discussion and analysis among hosts.
