AT&T Launches 100% Fiber Network To Shreveport-Bossier Area Customers

In a recent announcement, the telecom giant AT&T, who is one of the fastest internet providers in the United States, confirmed that they are offering a 1-gigabit connection on their 100 percent fiber network. AT&T’s fiber internet network is actually powered by the AT&T FiberSM.

The officials from AT&T also added that this latest offering will be available to their customers in parts of the Shreveport-Bossier area and it includes parts of Bossier City, Shreveport, and surrounding communities.

The Shreveport-Bossier region is actually one among the 51 metros in the county that receives the ultrafast internet service from AT&T. Reports indicate that the telecom company is also planning to expand the availability of their high-speed internet service to a minimum of 61 metros in the upcoming months.

The ultra fast internet service offered by AT&T is currently available in approximately 4 million locations in the country. The officials from AT&T hinted that they are trying to significant boost the availability of their fast internet service to at least 12.5 million locations in the country by mid-2019.

Sonia Perez, AT&T Louisiana state president said, “Our customers are increasingly interacting with their world in more data-intensive ways. A growing number of people are streaming content directly from their devices, and interacting with family and friends through live videos. For these reasons, we’re bringing our fastest internet speeds to the Shreveport-Bossier region.”

Glover, the State Representative said, “The 100% fiber network from AT&T will contribute to our growing economy and high quality of life in Caddo and Bossier Parishes to help create new jobs, expand small business and enhance educational opportunities. We celebrate the expansion of AT&T Fiber to our area and look forward to the possibilities this service brings to areas like the MLK/Cooper Road neighborhood.”

Lorenz Walker, City of Bossier City Mayor said, “I am very pleased AT&T selected the Bossier City-Shreveport area as a site for its 100% fiber network. Access to ultra-high-speed internet will play a key role in our region’s economic future by helping attract new jobs, encourage innovation and entrepreneurship, and opening new opportunities in many fields.”
