Comcast Ups Internet Speeds For Customers In Twin Cities

Better Internet Speeds

Comcast, one of the best internet providers in the US, has now announced that they are going to more than double the speed of their Performance 25 Xfinity Internet tier. This is for their existing customers in the Twin Cities area at no extra charges. It is reported that the users will be able to enjoy download speeds of up to 55 Mbps on Performance Plus tier. Moreover, customers who are currently in the Performance Internet tier will see an increase in their download speeds from 50 Mbps to up to 70 Mbps at no extra charges.

“These increases reflect our commitment to bring faster Internet speeds to our customers, just like we’ve done almost every year for more than a decade,” said Jeff Freyer, who is the Regional Vice President of Comcast, Minneapolis–Saint Paul. “Our goal is to deliver a great value and superior online experience for our customers. Whether gaming, streaming HD videos, or connecting multiple devices at the same time, we want to ensure they have the speeds they need.”

“The Twin Cities is a vital technology hub and our economy depends on fast, reliable Internet service to keep citizens and businesses connected,” said Margaret Anderson Kelliher, President and CEO of Minnesota High Tech Association. “We’re pleased to know metro area residents continue to receive faster internet speeds, and we appreciate Comcast’s ongoing investments across the region.”

Xfinity Internet Speeds

It is reported that the revised speeds are already available for customers. Comcast said that the users might reset their modems if they are unable to access the new speeds. This can be done by unplugging the modem from the power outlet for a few minutes. In addition, Comcast may notify those customers who need to upgrade their modems to get access to the revised internet speeds.

Those customers who lease modems from Comcast will get the upgraded modems free of cost and those customers who own their modems and need to upgrade their modems to get the increased speeds will have to buy a new modem from Comcast or they may lease one.

Xfinity from Comcast delivers the best internet service and in home Wi-Fi experience to their customers in the US. Most of the users will be able to enjoy complimentary access to 15 million Xfinity Wi-Fi hotspots across the nation. Comcast also offers varied speed tiers to meet the needs of their consumers.
