The global leader in broadband satellite services and networks, Hughes Network Systems, recently made an announcement stating that they will be offering a new service, titled as HughesNet® Gen5, in the United States by the first quarter of 2017. HughesNet® Gen5 is the first and only internet service, which offers Federal Communications Commission’s defined broadband speeds (25 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload speed) from coast to coast across the country.

This service is expected to deliver more data, faster internet speeds, and built-in Wi-Fi for both small businesses and consumers across the entire continental U.S. In addition to that, this latest offering from the telecom giant will also be available in some regions within Alaska. The officials from HughesNet also confirmed that the new internet service will be powered by Hughes JUPITER™ System, which is the most widely deployed satellite networking platform in the entire globe.

The officials from the telecom company also added that HughesNet Gen5 would be available to their customers in a wide variety of affordable business and consumer plan in order to suit the specific requirements of the customer. Additionally, this service will also feature data from 10 to 250 GB per month with an incredible download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 3 Mbps. Additional features customers can enjoy by subscribing to the service are as follows.

  • Hughes JUPITER™ System

    Built-in Wi-Fi for connecting wireless devices

  • No data limits but the speed of the internet service will be reduced once you exceed the monthly data plan
  • Video Data Saver mode, which let users watch more video contents with less data consumption
  • Bonus Zone, users will be able to enjoy 50 GB of free data a month during off-peak hours (02:00 am to 08:00 am)
