One of the best internet providers in the United States, Charter Communications® recently announced a change, which a major portion of subscribers may see as good while others may see as bad. The telecom company that took over the operations of Time Warner Cable® in Nebraska and many other states recently stated that they would start transitioning their Spectrum® cable customers in London and adjacent communities to a new all-digital network by next month.
The good news is that Charter® customers in these areas will be receiving over 75 High-Definition channels and they will also gain access to thousands of On-Demand options for movies and TV shows. However, the downfall is that customers will need to have a digital receiver for the TVs in their house if they want to receive this offering from the telecom giant.
The CEO of Charter Communications® said, “By going all-digital in Lincoln and removing analog signals, we free up capacity in our network for faster internet speeds, more HD, and on-demand options and pave a path for future innovation.” The officials from the telecom company confirmed that the changeover will begin next month and it might take more than a few weeks to complete.
Officials also added that they would be shortly notifying the subscribers about the scheduled upgrade date through outbound calls, bill messages, and direct mail. In addition to that, messages will be also appearing on the television screen of Charter Communications® customers in these areas.
Reports indicate that Charter® subscribers who have a Spectrum-enabled device like Roku or Xbox One gaming console at their home will not have to get a digital receiver for their television to get the latest offering from the telecom company. The officials from the company also guaranteed that they would offer at least one receiver to all their customers for free for a few years but it will depend on the programming package of the customer.
However, reports from several reliable sources claim that most of the Charter® subscribers in these regions will receive a free receiver for just a single year. After the promotional period, customers will have to pay fees for using the receiver, which might make some customers unhappy even though they are receiving more HD channels. Despite all these factors, your best bet at acquiring a cheap internet and cable deal is Charter Communications®.
