Charter Unveils New Spectrum TV App

Video On Demand Titles

Charter Communications has recently unveiled the new Spectrum TV app that will assist in providing a unified experience for the customers. Legacy Charter customers, and those from Time Warner Cable (TWC) and Bright House Networks acquired by Charter last year, will be offered support for using this new Spectrum TV app.

The introduction of this new app will enable Charter to expand its app experience across smartphones, computers, and other connected devices. With the new Spectrum TV app, customers will be offered in-home access to about 300 live TV channels and 25,000 free and subscription Video On Demand titles. Along with that, the Spectrum app allows streaming live and VOD content using TV Everywhere rights that includes about 120 linear TV channels and 17,000 on-demand titles for viewing outdoors.

The app is available across a host of platforms including Android, iOS, Roku players, Kindle Fire devices, Xbox One consoles, Samsung Smart TV’s, and the web. The app also supports the features of the TWC TV and BHTV apps. For legacy Charter customers, the Spectrum TV app provides accessibility to many new features and enhancements like the addition of platforms like the Xbox One and Samsung Smart TV along with VOD and search options on Roku devices. The app also offers an increase in the number of live channels and VOD titles.

Moreover, the Spectrum TV app has extended functionalities that enable it to be used as a remote control on mobile devices. This will provide Charter subscribers with an enhanced experience in using their TV services. Rich DiGeronimo, Charter’s EVP of products and strategy said, “We’re very excited to give all our customers a more robust and consistent Spectrum TV App experience. It combines the best features and functions on a single app, giving customers greater flexibility and more content on a growing number of devices.”

The app is available for free download for Spectrum TV customers and offers a completely interactive and flawless viewing experience. Moreover, it enables the customers to select any shows and movies by its genre and category. The introduction of the Spectrum TV app is another major stride in the currently undergoing integration process of Charter. The availability of the content, packages, and channels will differ according to the market and the video subscription package opted by the customer.
