Cox Enterprises Announces A $25,000 Grant To LULAC

In a recent announcement, the officials from Cox Enterprises revealed that they are offering a $25,000 grant to the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) to expand their Empower Hispanic America with Technology (EHAT) network to Georgia.

The Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications and Administrative Services of Cox Enterprises, Bob Jimenez, who also chairs the board of the Latin American Association said, “We are proud to create this community resource and connect our longstanding national and local partners LULAC and the Latin American Association.”

“Cox’s contribution will expand LULAC’s network of 65 community technology centers to Georgia, providing free broadband access and computer-related training to students, parents, and low-income individuals,” Jimenez added.

LULAC technology centers offer free computer-related training and broadband access to low-income individuals, students and parents. The grant from the company will be used for empowering the Hispanic community by significantly increasing their access to telecommunication technologies. The partnership with Cox Enterprises will allow LULAC to bring employment services, skill development opportunities, and workforce development training to the EHAT site in Georgia.

LULAC National Executive Director Brent Wilkes said, “Access to reliable broadband is one of the most pressing civil rights issues facing the Latino community. With the help of Cox Enterprises, we are thrilled to expand our tech center network to metro Atlanta and empower our families and communities with broadband access.”

Executive Director of Latin American Association, Aníbal Torres said, “We are grateful to Cox Enterprises for its continued support of the Latin American Association and the important work we do. We are excited to partner with LULAC to bring the Technology Center to Atlanta as it will have a positive impact within our education and economic empowerment focus areas.”
