Mr. Mercedes To Premiere On AT&T Audience Network In August

A new AT&T Audience Network original series from Sonar Entertainment, which is titled as “Mr. Mercedes” will be premiering on August 8, 2017, Wednesday, at 08:00 pm ET. Viewers will be able to watch the premiere of this most anticipated series through AT&T U-Verse, DirecTV, and DirecTV Now streaming service.

The upcoming series is actually based on the best-selling novel by Stephen King of the same name. The novel was adapted and written for television by David E. Kelley, while Jack Bender has directed multiple episodes of the series.

Bender and Kelley also serve as the executive producers of Mr. Mercedes, along with Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey from King and Temple Hill Entertainment. Reports indicate that Sonar Entertainment will be producing and distributing the original series.

The main cast members of Mr. Mercedes are Brendan Gleeson, Harry Treadaway, Kelly Lynch, Jharrel Jerome, Scott Lawrence, Robert Stanton, Breeda Wool, Justine Lupe, Ann Cusack, and Mary Louise-Parker.

“Mr. Mercedes” tells the story of a demented killer, Brady Hartsfield, who finds pleasure in taunting a retired police detective, Bill Hodges, with a series of lurid emails and letters. This eventually forces the detective to undertake a potentially felonious private mission to bring the demented killer to justice before he attacks another victim.

The author, Stephen King, described the novel as his first attempt on a hard-boiled detective tale. Scribner published the novel in June and it went on to become a No. 1 New York Times Bestseller shortly. A few months after the release of the first novel, King confirmed that Mr. Mercedes was the first novel of a projected trilogy. Scribner published the second novel, “Finders Keepers” in June 2015, while the last novel of the trilogy, “End of Watch, was published in June 2016.
