The Best Ways To Get HBO Right Now

Get HBO

People without HBO are having it hard staying off spoilers right now. Everywhere they turn to on the internet, there is something about Jon Snow from Game of Thrones. Cord cutters cannot wait for the sixth season of the show to hit DVDs. But is there no other way to get HBO?

There are some options worth looking into, many of them quite affordable. HBO has recently expanded their programming and started giving streaming and subscription options, so more viewers can get a hold of the awesome programming they have been churning out. We have compiled a list of ways for you to be watching the most popular TV shows at this time.

A La Carte

Before starting with this, let us clear the air about HBO GO and HBO NOW. They are two completely different services. HBO GO is a mobile app for people who have already subscribed to the HBO service, and want to stream TV to their devices. HBO NOW is a separate service that brings you all the current programming at a monthly charge.

There is no contract for this, and you can access both new and catalogued content at a price that is affordable, except that you need fast internet to be able to use all this. The problem there is that a 15-20 Mbps internet speeds don’t come cheap, although if it is already set up in your home, HBO NOW is a neat deal to go for.

Add-Ons

HBO Programming

Many cable and satellite providers let you add HBO to the package you get from them, without a separate contract requirement. If you are lucky, you will get a free preview of premium channels for a couple months. The basic cable fee for most providers is a standard per month, and is close to what HBO NOW would cost without cable TV.

Many of these offers come at promo pricing, which gives way to a higher one after the offer period is up. If you have a handful of other channels that you wish to add besides HBO, that may be a value proposition. Check out the providers that cover your area.

An alternative to the A La Carte option is to get an Amazon Prime subscription, but that comes at a higher price than getting HBO added on to your DirecTV or Dish Network package.
