AT&T To Launch Subscription Service For Young Adults Tomorrow

AT&T Service

AT&T is trying to get into the same beat as a younger audience these days, and if you didn’t get that from the recent announcement about three DirecTV packages which will stream online in June, there’s that and more. It’s painfully apparent that most of the videos young adults watch is from what they pick up on social media and online streams. AT&T just announced that it’ll be releasing a new subscription service called Fullscreen, set to launch on Tuesday and carry features meant for teens and 20-somethings.

That includes a shareable GIF creator, playlists shared by TV stars, and a search tool that lets you pick a TV show based on your mood. The service also comes with The Deleted, an original TV series scripted by Bret Easton Ellis, author of American Psycho and Rules of Attraction.

Fullscreen has been designed to draw in the most elusive of the TV viewing demographic, which is 13- to 30-year-olds. It will appeal to young adults who keep going in for cable or turning to streaming alternatives such as YouTube, Hulu and Netflix. The shows here will include social media stars that rose to fame through YouTube and Instagram. This is clearly a break from the services the telecom provider has been putting out till now.

Fullscreen will cost $5 per month fee and bring a lineup of short videos, sitcoms and movies. It’s going to be available online through smartphones and tablets. Its namesake is a company which created the original video service, and Fullscreen’s majority owner is Otter Media, which is a joint project under AT&T and The Chernin Group. The latter is an entertainment company based in LA, and led by the famed TV executive Peter Chernin.

The video service will come with a mix of familiar TV shows and movies like Dawson’s Creek, Napoleon Dynamite, Cruel Intentions, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Saved By the Bell, and new ones too, if you look at what AT&T officials are saying. One of the new ones you’ll be seeing if you sign up, is My Selfie Life, which is a documentary-like series following the singular life experiences of young people, such as having to deal with a terminal illness in a twin, transitioning to a new gender, or shedding 200 pounds with inspiration derived from Instagram.

So, checkout for the best AT&T deals and DirecTV choice package today and make sure you subscribe for the wonderful service at the best price.
