Sling TV Releases App For Windows 10 Devices

Sling TV Offers

Sling TV, the streaming service of Dish Network that is aimed at cord cutters, has made its way into the Windows 10 operating system now. Dish has officially announced the launch of their On Demand TV service for Windows 10 computers and tablets via a new application that is now live in Windows Store. The legacy PC software of Sling TV will also be supported together with the new application that takes advantage of the features that are unique to the Windows 10 operating system.

The unique features include touch support, vertical main menu on Sling TV, and Windows’ Live Tiles showing “Favorites” and “Continue Watching” ribbons when the users pins the Sling TV app to the Start menu. The latest app for Windows 10 is responsive and so it can adapt to varied screen sizes and can be snapped to use half of the screen. The app works with Cortana, which is the built-in assistant of Windows 10 operating system. This means that the user can search for shows, channels, and movies by voice as well.

As with all the Sling TV subscriptions, new users can sign up for over the top services starting at 20 dollars per month. Many popular TV channels like ESPN, Comedy Central, Disney, TNT, FOX, AMC, A&E, CNN, VICELAND, and NBC (in select markets) would be added to the package. After signing up, users can choose to customize their channel lineup further by choosing add-on packs for five dollars per month. This feature will help users to access additional channels that can be grouped based on genres like “kids,” “comedy,” “sports” and more.

Premium channels like HBO, Starz, and Cinemax are also available for users. Starz and Star Encore were added very recently and offered a free trial period until September 14. As the promotion has ended now, subscribers need to pay 9 dollars per month to avail these channels in their Sling TV subscription. It should be noted that the new Starz pack brings about 3,000 new titles to the service, and so the price is not that hefty for pro movie watchers.

Sling representatives also said that the support for additional Windows 10 devices would be released soon.
