AT&amp;T purchased DirecTV together with its local call center at Missoula last summer, and they are now planning to add a hundred more customer service agents in Missoula. If all these positions are filled, the number of AT&amp;T\/DirecTV employees in Missoula will be about 750, and that in Montana will be 880. This will be 160 more job opportunities locally and 180 statewide after the transfer of ownership.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThere\u2019s just a growing need,\u201d AT&amp;T spokesperson Suzanne Trantow said. \u201cDemand is up and we\u2019re always trying to provide our customers with excellent customer service.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The news of job opportunity is actually good for the Missoula County residents, as AT&amp;T is the fourth largest employer in the county. \u201cWe\u2019re glad to have them bring in a few more jobs and it sounds like it\u2019s a good investment for them,\u201d Commissioner Jean Curtiss said. \u201cWe need entry-level jobs too, but some of the people in leadership positions with DirecTV started as call people, so it does provide a career ladder.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_445\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetripleplay.net\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-974\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-445\" class=\"wp-image-445 size-medium\" title=\"DirecTV Services\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetripleplay.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/DirecTV-Family-Package-3-e1471607102622-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"DirecTV\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-445\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em><strong>Call Center Jobs<\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">AT&amp;T said that the new recruits would have to go through an intensive 7-week training schedule along with other ongoing training modules. As per the job description posted on the website, the representatives get a 70% medical, vision, and dental coverage, free DirecTV Premier Package, and discounts from AT&amp;T. They will also be eligible for tuition reimbursement and 401(k) retirement plan. To be eligible for the job, you need to have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe ideal candidate is able to answer 40 to 50 inbound calls per day while building rapport with customers and recommending solutions and troubleshooting systems on a daily basis,\u201d the description said. The calls will range from billing enquiries to programming and updates and they are handled in \u201ca very open, fun, warm and thriving environment\u201d which involves sixteen or seventeen teams.
