It is crucial to note that customers who have subscribed to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetripleplay.net\/directv-cable\/\">TV service of DirecTV<sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/a> are unable to access the Honolulu MyNetworkTV affiliated station since October 19, 2017.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The order issued by the FCC Media Bureau said, \u201cRather than provide a counter-offer to DirecTV\u2019s initial proposal, HITV requested DirecTV<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> to provide another proposal that would be workable for HITV. We agree with DirecTV<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> that it is not obligated to negotiate against itself.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The broadcast television station KFVE has been getting compensation from DirecTV<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> when Raycom Media negotiated on their behalf. However, the Congress recently proclaimed that such kind of joint negotiations are not allowed anymore. Still, HITV still wants compensation from the TV service provider, but DirecTV<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> is not willing to meet the needs of HITV, as they claim that the demand for the channel is too low. The FCC Media Bureau\u2019s order regarding this issue asserted the fact that DirecTV<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> did not act in a bad faith.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1995\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetripleplay.net\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1995\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1995\" class=\"wp-image-1995 size-medium\" title=\"Best Packages\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetripleplay.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Charter-Spectrum-Internet-5-300x209.jpg\" alt=\"Cheap Internet\" width=\"300\" height=\"209\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thetripleplay.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Charter-Spectrum-Internet-5-300x209.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.thetripleplay.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Charter-Spectrum-Internet-5.jpg 614w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1995\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em><strong>High Speed Internet<\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In addition to that, the FCC Media Bureau also rejected the claim made by HITV. They said, \u201cAlthough it would have been more consistent with the spirit of the retransmission consent rules for DirecTV<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> initially to explain its decision not to provide any monetary compensation, even in the absence of a counter-offer from HITV, our rules require no such explanation, and ultimately DirecTV conveyed its reasoning to HITV.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The officials from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.directv.com\/\">DirecTV<sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/a> had managed to strike a deal with Rapid Broadcasting a few days ago. As a result, the NBC affiliate KNBN in Rapid City, SD had repapered on DirecTV<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> right before the Super Bowl kickoff. This means that the Hawaiian station is the only channel that is unavailable on the channel line-up of DirecTV<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> at present.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is significant to note that one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetripleplay.net\/charter-internet\/\">best internet providers in the country<\/a>, Charter<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> had also lost a few stations over the last couple of weeks. Due to this, channels such as CNBC, NBC Sports Network, and USA went dark to Charter<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> TV subscribers. Some of these channels offer exclusive coverage and live updates from the Winter Olympics.
