Charter Communications is planning to launch a new low-income broadband service, called Spectrum Internet Assist. This internet service from Charter will offer a downstream internet speed of 30 Mbps and an upstream internet speed of 4 Mbps at just $14.99 a month.

This offering from Charter Communications is comparatively a lot much faster than all other low-income broadband offerings. In addition to that, it is considerably low-priced than a typical broadband internet service, which offers the same internet speed.

Families with students, who participate in the National School Lunch Program, as well as senior individuals (minimum age of 65) would be eligible for subscribing to the Spectrum Internet Assist program. It’s important for cable and broadband providers like us to play a role in bridging the digital divide so that everyone has access to the information and tools they need to succeed in today’s economy.”

He also added that their latest offering, Spectrum Internet Assist, is already available to their customers in Charter’s legacy service area. In addition to that, the company has also promised that this service will be made available in the entire service territory of Charter by mid-2017.

Reports say that Charter has also allowed the eligible customers to bundle their home phone or cable service with Spectrum Internet Assist. This will enable subscribers to enjoy numerous services at an even cheaper price. The basic price eligible subscribers have to pay for triple play bundle of home phone, internet, and cable service is just $74.97.
