One of the best internet providers in the country, Charter Communications® has decided to target broadband-only customers and TV cord-cutters with the trail of a new slimmed-down no-contract streaming video package. The officials from the telecom company have notified that the basic price for the new package will be just $19.95 a month.
Spectrum® TV Stream called the new offering as an in-home IPTV offering and added that it will provide customers access to over 25 popular channels. Customers will be able to watch the contents from four major local TV broadcast feeds, CNN, FX, AMC, PBS, Bravo, Discovery Network, History, and a lot more.
According to the promo, this latest baseline offering from Charter® will be also offering customers access to an abundant library of approximately 5,000 free VOD titles. In addition to that, it will also authorize a subset of their live TV channels, which customers can access when they are not at their home.
Reports indicate that customers will be also able to subscribe to individual premium channels such for just $7.50 a month. In addition to that, the telecom company is also offering a live sports and news package for an extra $12 per month and it includes channels like HLN, NBC Sports, ESPN2, ESPN, and Bloomberg Television.
In a recent statement, the officials from Charter® said, “We are testing Spectrum® Stream, an IP delivered in-home cable TV product with traditional TV everywhere out-of-home streaming, to a group of prequalified and current Spectrum® Internet customers to see if this smaller package resonates with a certain segment of non-video customers. It includes local broadcast channels, 25 popular cable networks and access to thousands of On Demand choices along with options for additional news, sports and premium channels delivered to connected and mobile devices, without requiring a set-top box.”
Charter Communications® had earlier tested a different iteration of Spectrum® TV Stream back in the year 2015. The basic price for that offering was $12.99 a month and it was bundled with a Roku 3 streaming player. Reports from several reliable sources indicate that several other pay TV operators have also decided to roll out or test such slimmer bundles.
