21st Annual CONNECTIONS Summit

Park Associates is a leading Internet of Things research firm in the United States and they have now announced that Cox Communications will be delivering a keynote at the twenty first annual CONNECTIONS summit, which is the premium connected home conference that is to take place from May 23 to 25 at the Hyatt Regency, San Francisco.

It is reported that Kristine Faulkner, who is the SVP/GM of COX Homelife, will be presenting the keynote address on “What About the Customer? Bridging the Divide in Smart Home Services” on May 24. She will also address how the telecom industry can reach the goal of mass consumerization of the various smart and connected home services.

“Consumers recognize the expansive possibilities inherent in smart home technologies, which allow them to leverage the same connectivity to stream a movie, control their thermostat, and secure the home,” said Tom Kerber, Director of IoT Strategy, Parks Associates. “CONNECTIONS explores the full range of possibilities for companies active in the connected home, including ways the industry can move beyond first-time buyers to achieve mass-market adoption.”

Statistics prove that about twenty-six percent of the broadband households in the US make use of at least one smart home device. However, these devices are bought as standalone and the users expect the devices to work together. It is forecasted by Park Associates that by 2020, the annual revenue from smart home controllers will be more than 1.3 billion US dollars. Park Associates claimed that companies should develop more and more smart home strategies that can offer premium value.

The CONNECTIONS conference of 2017 offers a useful mixture of market analysis, research, and industry insight from the various leaders. Faulkner is currently focused on improving the growth of Cox Homelife and Smart Home market making use of their cheap and best internet services.

“The smart home and security services market has great potential to invite consumers into a new era of possibility in how they interact and manage their daily lives. Consumers want to be at ease and cared for and that is especially important given where consumer sentiments are today,” Faulkner said.

“Cox is playing a big part in that movement, and we are able to introduce consumers to capabilities they may not be aware of when they are selecting new broadband, entertainment services, moving or upgrading,” she further added. “This year, Cox has embarked on a nationwide Cox Smart Home tour in our communities demonstrating how families are creatively combining Cox services with dozens of devices and applications to build their custom connected home of the future.”
