Dish Network Channel Guide

Tribune Media

Tribune media has recently been removed from the Dish Network channel list and staffs working on behalf of Tribune have deeply criticized this decision from Dish Network. Tribune Media stations were missing from the Dish Network for some time now, and efforts were made to make an agreement that made the channels available to a part of Dish subscribers. However, these efforts failed. Tribune spokesperson, Gary Weitman, said that the owner of WGN America Network and other 42 channels that were removed from the network have not heard a word from Dish Network about continuing the contract or negotiations.

“We want a fair deal; all we are asking is for the same market rate that Dish is already paying others,” Weitman said in an email. “Dish drags its feet in negotiations – we haven’t heard from them in more than 36 hours.” In one of their statements, Dish authorities said that Tribune is to blame solely. “Rather than continuing to negotiate in good faith, Tribune chose to remove their channels from Dish. We have yet to receive a reasonable response to our last offer,” the company said.

Tribune is trying to get the word out about this and they are appealing to the Dish customers about the programs that they are missing, which includes broadcast of the NBA Finals and the Chicago Cubs games. Dish customers in 34 states and Columbia district will be affected by this decision of Dish. Tribune is adopting many tactics to make the Dish customers aware of what they are missing. Street teams of Tribune have visited bars with Chicago Cubs game on TV and they have passed out fliers that show the fight with Dish. Billboards are also set up in Chicago and New Orleans about the sports matches that are missed by the viewers.
