Consumers On-The-Move

Brad Bentley, Executive VP of Marketing for AT&T Entertainment Group, recently noted that celebrity campaigns mark the paradigm shift that the company is planning to implement. Now that an acquisition with Time Warner is nearing, becoming a media powerhouse is expected by AT&T. in that regard, Bentley recently launched first of many campaigns featuring star Mark Wahlberg.

The four commercials featuring Wahlberg talk about the 7 revamped consumer terms of AT&T. The commercials rephrase the old company motto to a note that promises consumers the best internet appropriately. In fact, it is the first time that AT&T has pushed their unlimited packages, DirecTV, and wireless to commercials. Wahlberg was chosen after AT&T decided that it is time to move ahead and deliver good service to consumers.

“Mark really connects with consumers on their behalf and it’s incredibly authentic,” says Bentley. Going by the four commercials, it is evident Wahlberg has understood the core message delivered by AT&T and talked about it enthusiastically. “I really liked the way they were talking about giving consumers entertainment,” said the popular star of Ted and Transformers: The Last Knight. “I’m not really a tech guy, but I’ve got four small kids, and they’ve got iPads, iPhones, and all these things and I’m now having to start to figure it out and it’s just made it easier for me to access what I want and what I need.”

It is for a reason that the best internet service provider had sought the help of Wahlberg. The celebrity has been around for a while and knows that finding a balance between online and showbiz is essential for viewership.

“Hopefully, we can have that nice balance of people wanting to go to the theater and have that experience of sitting down in a theater, laughing next to somebody, crying next to somebody and sharing that, but also wanting to be able to access what you want when you want,” Wahlberg said.

The AT&T commercials also feature stars Tracy Morgan, Rob Corddry, and James Marsden as Teddy Flood. Audiences can view one of the commercials now on any of the content sharing platforms. It is reported that six AT&T commercials featuring Wahlberg will be arriving soon, and it will take around 3 months or so for Bentley and Wahlberg to roll out the commercials.
