4K Ultra-High Definition TV broadcast of DirecTV was the first of its kind in the country. The Masters Golf tournament was the inaugural event of the dedicated 4K channel of DirecTV. DirecTV executives says that 4K offers great sharpness and picture quality to the videos, but it will be difficult for a normal customer to differentiate between 4K videos and normal HD videos.

Streaming service providers like Amazon Video and Netflix also offer videos and shows in 4K. Ultra High Definition Blu-Ray videos are also a growing trend these days. Let us hope that the introduction of 4K channels will help DirecTV to woo more customers to their services.
