College Football Season

College football season has arrived. With so many games to watch, this may be the favorite time of the year for many football fans. This year’s football season has four matchups of ranked teams; six more ranked teams playing against Power Five opposition; and out of these, four are playing away from home.

The demands from the fans and the television networks have motivated the schools to set up more challenging game. Some best games are scheduled on the huge opening weekend. A former CBS Sports columnist, Tony Barnhart said, “In terms of quality matchups and what they mean, this is the best opening weekend of college football that I’ve ever seen.”

Hunter Yurachek, Houston athletic director said, “I think CFP committee has made it clear they’re looking at strength of schedule as a strong barometer. Look at the opening weekend… This is as much excitement about an opening weekend that I can remember.”

CBS Sports 128’s six best teams are playing each other in the first week. You can watch a lot of these games in ESPN and Big Ten Network. Football fans better make sure that ESPN and BTN is available on your TV channel guide; be it DirecTV, Comcast, Dish Network, or Time Warner Cable, and note the channel number else you may miss out some of the best moments in the college football season.

Football coverage of ESPN started with the match between two SEC schools on September 1. Apart from live coverage of the football games, you can also watch College GameDay, the popular pregame show of the channel this season. The show’s first installment aired on September 3 from 9 a.m. ET to noon at Lambeau Field, to preview the game between Wisconsin and LSU.

Big Ten Network (BTN)

BTN features all the contents from the Big Ten Conference, including coaches, players, and live football games. This season, fans of teams like the Ohio State Buckeyes, Michigan Wolverines, and Wisconsin Badgers, can watch their games in BTN. The channel may also show teams that are not of Conference if they are playing against Big Ten School.
