Comcast Business, the subsidiary of Comcast Corporation, has declared that it is conducting beta testing of a latest Software-Defined Wide Area Networking (SD-WAN) solution. This results in improved application performance, centralized network policy management, and efficient control of costs.

With this new development, Comcast Business has become the first company to establish the SD-WAN platform for enterprise and multi-site businesses. The company is collaborating with Versa Networks, a leading software-based networking and security provider, to make this new platform available for businesses. Comcast utilizes the Cloud IP platform of Versa Networks in delivering this secure networking service with high operational effectiveness requires in today’s digital systems.

Kevin O’Toole, senior vice president of product management for Comcast Business said, “Our SD-WAN solution pairs a carrier-grade, hosted SDN environment with widely available gigabit service. Together, our SD-WAN and gigabit bandwidth solutions herald a new generation of networking that provides the bandwidth, scalability, reliability and flexibility needed to power the cloud applications that are transforming business operations.”

The company is also planning to roll out Business Internet 1000 across all of its service areas. It is a DOCSIS 3.1-based gigabit internet service specifically aimed at business customers.
