DirecTV Player
DirecTV player is a free software, compatible with Windows Operating Systems, Mac OS, Windows Phone, Android, and iOS. The player offers a better viewing experience as well. Once you have it installed on your device, you can pull up your favorite programs in the app and start watching them right away.
Basic Requirements
If you are installing DirecTV Player on your laptop, make sure that you have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player in it. DirecTV releases frequent updates to the player to keep it compatible with the latest video codecs and formats. Therefore, you need to keep your devices compatible with the player as well.
iPad Support
DirecTV player is compatible with most of the latest versions of iPads, including iPad 2, iPad Mini, and iPad Air. First-generation iPads are not compatible with the player though. Also, you will need to ensure that your operating system version is iOS 8 or higher.
Android Support
Watch DirecTV Programs
DirecTV Player is compatible with Android tablets and smartphones running on Android versions 4.2 or higher. At least a 5-inch screen size is recommended to run the player without issues.
Kindle Support
The latest Kindle Fire HD tablets are supported. However, first-generation devices are not compatible with the DirecTV Player.
The DirecTV Player apps for Android and iOS devices are available on Google Play and iTunes. You must make sure that your HD DVR is connected to the internet to be able to stream the programs on your devices.
